Philip Birkholz is our perfume sommelier and co-founder of the family business Birkholz Perfume Manufacture. His passion for perfume began as a child and he later began to develop his own fragrance creations. His interest grew over the years as he traveled the world, learning about different cultures and traditions of perfume making. Philip Birkholz creates each of Birkholz's luxurious fragrance compositions from the most exquisite Fragrance Notes together with the world's most prestigious houses. How is a Birkholz perfume created?

The development of a new fragrance is a long process that involves inspiration and various tests. It can take a long time to find the right concentration, blend and notes. Philip works with a wide range of perfumers to transform the idea of the fragrance's inspiration into a finished perfume.

How are the fragrances produced?

The filling and packaging as well as the first fragrance ideas and designs for new flacons are created in our manufactory. We develop our campaigns and new fragrances with our creative team. In our own production facility, each fragrance is filled and finished by hand using our self-designed filling machines. This is also where all Birkholz fragrances are shipped and packaged.
