How does a fragrance last longer?

10 TIPS ON HOW FRAGRANCES LAST LONGER

And optional subtext

Have you always wondered how a fragrance lasts longer? Here's the answer!

1. SMALL WARM-UP

To intensify the fragrance, apply it to the pulsating and, above all, warm areas: Behind the ear, on the wrist, the neck, the décolleté. Tip: This trick is particularly suitable for perfumes, as eau de toilettes can also evaporate much faster this way.

2. COOL DOWN

Warmth intensifies the fragrance, but also allows it to evaporate more quickly. If you want the perfume to last longer, cool areas such as the earlobe are suitable. Insider tip: In summer, the back of the knees or shoulders are also particularly suitable. When applied to the back of the knee, the perfume envelops the whole body as the fragrance always rises upwards. The shoulders are the outer areas that are closest to the people around you.

3. HAIRY AFFAIR

It's true - extra-long hair also offers extra-long hold for the fragrance. Hair is a good fragrance carrier as it binds the fragrance for longer and releases it gradually. However, perfume also contains alcohol, which in turn can be harmful to hair. Tip: An extra portion of hair care beforehand protects the hair.

4. K(L)A RUBDOWN

Especially during the first test, perfume is often sprayed on the forearm and then unfortunately rubbed in with the other. Stooooopp! The friction causes the fragrance molecules of the top, heart and base notes to mix together. This destroys the dramaturgy of the perfume and also reduces the intensity of the fragrance. It is better to dab carefully and allow the fragrance to take effect. This also allows you to properly perceive the dramaturgy of the fragrance.

5. TIMING IS EVERYTHING

It does exist - the right time to apply perfume: preferably directly after showering. The residual moisture on the skin means the fragrance is better retained.

6. PREPARING IS CARING

Dry skin does not retain fragrance as well. A good dose of moisture is therefore not only good for the skin, but is also the perfect basis for better scent retention. If you generally have dry skin, you can apply another spray. Perfumes smell more intense on oily skin and should be applied more sparingly. Tip: Fragrance-neutral lotions support the fragrance without distorting it.

7. CONCENTRATION PLEASE

The higher the concentration and quality of the fragrance oils, the longer the perfume lasts. An eau de cologne evaporates very quickly. An eau de toilette lasts up to three hours, an eau de parfum up to five hours and even longer.

8. PUT IN THE DRAWER

Nobly crafted and with attention to detail - flacons are often a piece of jewelry in themselves. However, perfume should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Firstly, the fragrance loses its intensity due to UV rays, and secondly, heat and temperature fluctuations can even cause the perfume to deteriorate. So in this case, pigeonholing is exactly the right thing to do.

9. CREATIVE THING

When WOMAN wants a unique and unusual combination of perfume and jewelry - she reaches for the fragrance jewelry. On the wrist as a bracelet or around the neck as a necklace - in a delicately crafted hollow pendant, a ceramic perfume bead stores the fragrance for several days.

10. BAG(GING) FOR MORE

Nobody wants to carry the heavy and somewhat unwieldy 50 ml bottle around with them all day. Smart solution: a pocket version of the perfume. Bottled in an atomizer , you can literally carry the fragrance with you all day long.
