The be-all and end-all of an individual fragrance is exceptional and balanced aromas such as amber or apple blossom. But the values of BIRKHOLZ Perfume Manufacture also start with A for recognition. The extended range of scented products includes scented jewelry as a bracelet or the argan care series. Under A, however, we also find the heart of our perfume bar - the bottling line for filling individual and personal perfumes.

B for enthusiasm for the world of fragrances - that's what we stand for at BIRKHOLZ Perfume Manufacture. Under this letter, however, essential fragrance terms such as floral or base note should not be missing. The base note of a perfume forms the foundation for every fragrance composition and is often made up of woody and musky aromas. The base note also has the unique property of forming a special bond with the fragrance properties of the skin. This creates a very individual note for each person.

H for heart note. After the top notes of the fragrance have faded away in the first few minutes and set the mood for the character of the fragrance, the body of each fragrance arrangement opens up - the heart note. It forms the subtle and harmonious gradations between the base and top notes and is perceptible for the longest time. It often consists of floral accords of roses, freesia or jasmine.

J for jasmine. It is also known as the royal flower. Jasmine is the most popular floral fragrance alongside rose, especially in the heart note. The exclusive flower oil is obtained from the fine white blossoms and is one of the highest quality oils in the world. K for top note. The dramaturgy of every perfume begins with the top note. It is the first thing you notice about the fragrance. The perfume usually opens with fresh and soft floral notes. The top note fades most quickly and releases the heart note of the perfume after around ten to fifteen minutes. The duration of the transitional moment varies from perfume to perfume.

L
L for lavender. The plant is also known as the soul of Provence. The many small blue-violet flowers exude a bitter-sweet fragrance - fresh and spicy at the same time. The plant, with an aroma somewhere between flower and herb, was already used by the ancient Romans and Greeks as a perfuming care additive. The scent of lavender has a calming and balancing effect on the nerves and promotes relaxation.

M for manufacture. We have developed 25 hand-picked fragrances over a long period of detailed work. As we would like to share our passion for fragrances, it was important to us to make the development of the individual perfume tangible for you as a customer. That is why, as a manufactory, we offer the opportunity to be present at every step when the selected glass flacon is filled at our centerpiece, the perfume bar. Our customers can be up close when the pump is inserted and the flacon plate is engraved and applied.

N for (fine) nose. Every perfume should be as individual as its wearer. To do this, we not only need a fine nose for fragrances, but also for you as a customer - a sense of which fragrance suits which character.

O as in oriental. Fragrances from the Arabian Nights bring the Orient to life. Notes of oud, leather, sandalwood, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, vetiver or amber exude a hint of sweet sensuality, passion and warmth. Oriental fragrances usually have animal, woody and leathery

P as in perfume. More precisely Extrait Parfum is the perfume with the highest concentration of fragrances. As a rule, perfumes have 15 to 30 percent fragrance oil content - as "Intense" even up to 40 percent. The proportion of fragrance concentrates in eau de parfum (EdP) is also very high at 10 to 15 percent. It is very intense and is used very sparingly. The volatility of eau de parfum is much lower than variants such as eau de toilette (EdT) with a concentration of six to nine percent or eau de cologne (EdC) with a fragrance content of three to five percent. This means that once applied, eau de parfum can still be smelled days later. We at BIRKHOLZ Perfume Manufacture have a fragrance oil content of 18 percent and are therefore already in the range of extrait parfum, but still declare our fragrances as eau de parfum.

Q for quality. As a manufactory that offers a niche perfume, quality is one of our corporate values. For us, quality is not just an empty phrase, but the standard we set for our products. We source our hand-picked perfume oils from the five most renowned perfume oil manufacturers in the world - from Switzerland, France and Germany. But it is not only the quality of our perfumes that is important to us. We were also very careful in the selection of our bottles and the hand-sewn leather caps from Italy and spent a long time searching and tinkering until we had developed our current handcrafted perfume with the BIRKHOLZ concept. The specially developed bottling line is the heart of our perfume bar - it was manufactured in Italy according to our own ideas and drawings and in line with our quality standards.

R for rose. The queen of flowers is not only the symbol of love and adoration, but also the bearer of a precious fragrance that is the epitome of femininity. The scent of the rose was appreciated early on in Persia, where rose oil was originally produced. As one of the most expensive fragrance oils, it is obtained by steam distillation of the flowers. The warm, soft scent of the rose stands for sensuality and seduction.

V for vanilla. The queen of spices grows as an orchid as a climbing plant around trees. Its fruit is the aromatic vanilla pod. There are over 110 different varieties, but the Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar spreads its aroma particularly well. The scent of vanilla is intense, sweet, warm and slightly woody with balsamic and tobacco-like notes. Vanilla gives every perfume a certain depth in its fragrance composition.

Z
Z like the citrus fruit. The lemon stands for a sour liveliness. The popular lemon oil is obtained cold by squeezing the peel. The sweet and sour, bright and above all refreshing note is mainly used in perfume top notes, giving the perfume a certain lightness.
